T-Wharf Story

The death occurred at Minasville on April 2, of Mrs Lydia Terhune, at the home of her sister, Mrs William Scott, wife of Captain Scott. the deceased who was in her ninety first year was a native of East Walton, a daughter of the late Hezekiah and Sarah Brown. She married at East Walton and lived there until thirty-six years ago when her husband passed away. She moved at that time to the United States where she remained apart from extensive trips taken to visit members of her family residing elsewhere, until two years ago. Realizing then that her strength was declining, and earnestly desiring to end her days in her native province, she returned to Nova Scotia and resided until the time of her passing at the home of her sister, Mrs Scott. The end came peacefully. She slipped away in her sleep. Mrs Terhune was a devout Christian beloved by all who knew her. She was a life long member of the Presbyterian Church.She is survived by three sons, John, Lexington, Mass., James, Boston, William, Reading, Mass. two daughters, Mrs John Foggins, Malden, Mass., Mrs G. Ward, who devoutedly attended her during her final illness and one sister, Mrs Scott, who is the last surviving member of a family of eleven. The funeral was held on April 5, from Minasville. Rev. Mr. Goff was the officiating clergy man and interment was in the family lot at East Walton (Tennycape?) cemetery. The remains were laid to rest besides those of her father, mother and husband.
