Duncan Campbell (b. 1813 Oa Parish, Islay, Scotland d. 20 Feb1892 Bruce Cty, Ont.) son of Dugald Campbell b. 1776 and (married 1799) Katherine Sellers b. 1780 Campbeltown Argyll, Scotland. Duncan married Ann McCuaig McLEOD (b. 1825 Islay, Scotland d. 29 Jan 1909 Kincardine, Ont) The family arrived in Canada on the S.S. Damascas in 1862/3. The family is listed as: Duncan age 44, Mrs. age 36, Dugald age 12, Cath------ age 10, Margaret age 8, Arin age 7, Bella age 4, Jessie age 2 , Mary age 6 mo and Margaret McCuaig mother-in-law age 60.

Margaret Louise S. Campbell MOFFATT (b. Mar 6, 1858 (33.) Lurabus Farm, Oa Parish, Islay, Scotland 15.) Her family emigrated to Canada in 1862 and lived in Bervie, Bruce Cty. Ont. Margaret age 19, marr.1872, John George Moffatt (26) age 21 (farmer, USA). The names James Black and Jane Gorrie are also in this marriage record where the names of his parents should be. Through DNA, we now know that Margaret's husband was born John George Black, son of James Black and Jane Gorrie. They were married 14 July 1845 in Fowlis Wester, Perth Scotland and had two daughters there, Mary 28 Sept 1845 and Margaret 12 Oct 1848, both born in Moneydie, Perthshire, Scotland. They must have travelled to the United States about 1850 and John George Black was born in New York about 1851. James and possibly Margaret must have died as Jane married 2nd, John Moffatt (1811-bef 1871) in 15 Mar1855 at Kincardine, ON Canada. The 1861 census has John Moffat ae 50, b. Scotland, farmer. Jane ae 40 b. Scotland. Mary ae 15 b. Scotland, and John ae 10 b. USA living in Kincardine, Bruce Cty. ON. All of the family have Moffatt as a surname so John and Mary must have also adopted Moffatt as their surname. The 1871 census has John Moffatt ae 21 b. USA living in Kincardine, Bruce Cty. ON with Jane Moffatt ae 50 widow b. Scotland.

The 1881 census John and his wife Margaret, living in Palmerston, Perth North , Ont. John 29, Margaret 28, Jane (Jennie) 8, Annie 5, Catherine (Islay) 3 and Marie Mary (Maude) 1. The family (minus John) moved to Butte MT and Margartet married 2nd in 15 May 1889 at Helena Mt. Richard. H. HUTCHINS (HUTCHENS)(b. May 6 1857, d. Feb 3 1923 Age: 69? Trail BC) from Cornwall England. They moved to Greenwood/Phoenix, BC where he was Superintendent of the Mother Lode Mine.and eventually to Rossland, BC. Margaret MOFFATT HUTCHINS d, Dec 15,1940 Age: 90 Rossland, BC (16)

Margaret's first husband, John George Black (Moffatt) married 2nd on 2 May 1891, Catherine Smith (Schmidt) (1862-1936). They had the following family: John Henry 1891-1946, Charles Robert (1892-1983), Mary Ann (1895-1986) and twin Margaret Ann (1895-1972), Grace (1897-1916), Lewis (1900-), Albert E. (1900-1948) and Bonnie (1905-1982) all surnamed Moffatt. John George Black died in 1906 in Spokane, WA.

i. Jane (Jennie Jessie) Isabel (b. ca 1874 Bervie Ont. d. 25 June, 1944 Trail, BC (16)) married Sept 10, 1895 in Butte MT, John (Jack) Alexander MACKINNON (b. Mar 30, 1869 Glengarry Ont. d. 21 Jan 1942 Trail, BC (16.)) son of Alexander MacKinnon and Anne MACPHERSON. Jack was an alderman and community leader in Trail BC. 8 Children Family.

ii. Anna Jessie (b. Nov1877 in Bruce County , Ont. d. 28 Dec 1962 Rossland, BC (16.)) married Nov 19 1901 in Greenwood George Terhune

iii. Islay Wilhamina. (bc 1878 d. 10 Oct 1961 Long Beach,) married 28 Dec 1904 in Grand Forks BC Charles/Carl H. SMITH/SCHMIDT (b. Mar 31, 1867 Lowden, Iowa d. Dec 20, 1953 age 85 Spokane, WA) son of Charles and Willihima Smith. Employed by Great Northern Railroad. Son Ernest C. (Charles?)(bca 1905 d. 1969 Spokane WA Fairmont Cemetary) lived in Lost River, Alaska. Daughter Irene L.(b.1907-d. 1988) marr. Ralph K. ALLEN (b. 1904-1994) Family

iv. Maude "Mamie" May MOFFATT (listed as Mary Maud 1881 census) (b. 25 Dec 1880 d. May 24, 1968 Baytown, TX) married 5 Mar 1901 in Greenwood Henry "Harry" Calhoun ADAMS.. see newspaper report..(b. 1876 Monticello, Iowa-died Oct 25, 1902 in Rossland BC from a mining accident at the Le Roi mine).see newspaper report. (33.) He was living with Maude (Mamie) in Rossland and was buried in Spokane possibly at Fairmount Cemetary. He was the son of Henry and Mary Adams.

Maude marr . 2nd Dec 28, 1904 Charles W. N. BIESEL (b. 23 Nov 1870 d. Nov 8, 1935, parents Christian and Anna Elizabeth BIESEL) a mining engineer. FAMILY
