From the Rossland Miner, Thursday January 21, 1926 Former Local Bank Clerk Ill for Some Time, Is Summoned The death took place at the family residence, Nickel Plate Flat, on last Friday night at 11:00 o'clock of Lorne Morrison Terhune, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. George Terhune of this city. Deceased was 23 years of age, and was born in Greenwood, where the family resided before moving to this city, where they have resided ever since. He was a student at the local public and high schools, and after leaving high school was in the employment of the Royal Bank of Canada here as teller, leaving here when the Bank closed its branch in Rossland and going to the Coast to a Vancouver branch of the same institution, later leaving the employ of the bank and taking a position with the City Electrical Company, Vancouver Last Spring Mr. Terhune returned to this city, and for several weeks was employed in the real estate offices of William Baker, taking ill last June with rheumatic fever and heart trouble, and being confined to his home until the time of his demise. Besides leaving his father and mother, two sisters, Misses Jean and Islay, and three brothers, Stewart, who is a student at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, and Ross and Roger of this city, survive all of whom will have the sympathy of the entire community in this hour of sad bereavement. The funeral services were held on Tuesday morning from the gamily residence to the United Church, Rev. H. J. Armitage officiating at the church and grave side, internment being at Sunnyside Cemetery. The church was will-filled with friends of deceased and the family, the United Church choir rendering "Rock of Ages" and Abide With Me," Mrs. Armitage singing very sweetly "Does Jesus Care?" The pallbearers were Messrs. Elwood Ellis, Kenneth Young, C. Pitt, Isaac Glover, Norman Allan and George Schneider. Many beautiful flowers from sorrowing friends shoed the high esteem in which deceased was held by all who knew him, among them being the following; the Gamily, Science '28, B.C. University, employees of the Rossland Properties of The Consolidated Co., officers and members of Rossland Lodge No. 36, I.O.O.F., United Church Sunday school, |
